Who We Are

Machaen Insurance Agency ("we," "us," or "our") is a licensed surety and specialty insurance agency. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to machaeninsurance.com and does not cover information you provide to us outside the website, such as in a signed application or a direct email exchange, which is governed by our client agreements and applicable insurance regulations.

Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information through this site.

• Information you give us directly. When you submit the quote request form, we collect your name, company, email address, phone number, the line of business you are asking about, an approximate bond or coverage amount, and anything you write in the message field.
• Information collected automatically. When you visit, our analytics provider records standard usage data such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate geographic region (derived from IP address, which we have configured to be anonymized), referring website, and general device and browser type.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and this site is not directed to children.

How We Use It

• To respond to your quote request and prepare a submission to surety and insurance markets on your behalf
• To contact you about your request, your account, or a bond or policy we have placed
• To understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve them
• To meet our recordkeeping and compliance obligations as a licensed agency

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.

Who We Share It With

We share information only where it is necessary to do the work you have asked us to do, or where the law requires it:

• Surety companies and insurance carriers. When you ask us to obtain a quote or place a bond or policy, we submit the relevant information to the markets we approach on your behalf.
• Service providers. Our website host (Netlify) processes form submissions and delivers them to us. Google Analytics processes website usage data. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide their service to us.
• Legal and regulatory. We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, subpoena, or a request from an insurance regulator.

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure how the site is used. We have enabled IP anonymization, and we have turned off Google's optional data sharing settings for advertising, benchmarking, and product recommendations.

You can opt out of analytics at any time by selecting Your Privacy Choices in the footer of any page and choosing to opt out. Your choice is stored in your browser, so you will need to set it again on a different browser or device. You can also block cookies through your browser settings, or install Google's browser opt-out add-on.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the following rights:

• Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to
• Right to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions where we are required to retain records
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (as stated above, we do not sell or share it)
• Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.

We will verify your request by confirming details we already hold, such as the email address or phone number associated with your inquiry, and we will respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask that agent for proof of your written permission.

Retention

We keep quote request submissions and client records for as long as needed to provide our services and to satisfy the recordkeeping requirements that apply to licensed insurance agencies, which in most states means several years after a policy or bond term ends. Website analytics data is retained on the schedule set in our Google Analytics account.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. We restrict access to submissions to the people at our agency who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Visitors Outside the United States

Our offices and service providers are located in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, including from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the site.
